Inside Line Promotions – WEST HAVEN, Vt. (July 26, 2017) – Evan Hallstrom picked up his first career runner-up result last Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway after the Hallstrom Motorsports team took advantage of additional testing early in the weekend.

“We went and practiced in order for me to get more seat time going into this weekend and for the rest of the season,” he said. “We started out and the car just didn’t feel right. So we just started throwing some different stuff setup-wise and trying some things out to see what we could to do in order to pick up a little more speed and outwit our competitors.”

Hallstrom started on the pole of a heat race and ended up fading to fourth place. However, thanks to the feature inversion, he started on the pole of the main event.

“It was cool to finally be able to start on the pole for the race,” he said. “We got a good start and a good distance between us and second. We had a few cautions and restarts throughout the race. I knew I had to get a good restart and hit my marks in order to stay out in front of those guys. On the last restart, I was battling door to door with second place and he ended up getting by me, but we were still happy with what we accomplished and our result.”

Hallstrom ended with a second-place finish, which was his first career top-five result.

He is scheduled to return to action at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Aug. 12.
