Inside Line Promotions – NORTHFIELD, Vt. (Feb. 16, 2018) – Evan Hallstrom is ready to get back into the swing of things with a big 2018 campaign following a successful season last year.
The Hallstrom Motorsports driver ended his first season in a late model with a runner-up finish in the championship standings at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., where he also claimed the Rookie of the Year Award. He was recently honored during the track banquet.
“It was cool to be able to accomplish what we did last season,” he said. “Our team worked hard throughout the year and we made progress, which we turned into consistency. We were able to pull off a handful of top fives and finish the year second in points. It was also a huge honor to receive the Rookie of the Year honors. We race hard and race for wins, but we want to earn respect from the other competitors out there as well.”
Toward the end of the season, Hallstrom was personally invited to compete in the 55th annual Vermont Milk Bowl at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. The Milk Bowl is the largest event on the Thunder Road calendar and is very prestigious in the Northeast. The 15-year-old became the youngest driver in the Thunder Road International Speedbowl’s modern history to qualify for the event.
Hallstrom is looking to continue to ride his momentum in 2018 as he will move up the ranks and compete full time in a late model at Thunder Road International Speedbowl. He also plans to tackle a few of the American-Canadian Tour races.
“We can’t wait for the sun to come out and racing to return up here,” he said. “We had a great season last year and are focused on being even more successful in 2018.”
The season begins with a car show in downtown Barre on Saturday, April 28, before Hallstrom will race in the 20th annual Community Bank 150 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl the following day.
