Inside Line Promotions – BARRE, Vt. (June 28, 2018) – Evan Hallstrom recorded a pair of top-five finishes at his home track of Thunder Road International Speedbowl last Thursday night.
The racing activities kicked off with a make-up feature from the previous week that was postponed because of inclement weather. Hallstrom started the feature from the rear of the field in 20th. He used all of 50 laps to maneuver his way through the field and garner a fourth-place finish, which was his first top five of the year.
The Hallstrom Motorsports driver began the night show by making his way from seventh to fourth place in a heat race before he lined up on the inside of the sixth row for the main event.
“The car was good in both practices and got us set up for the heat race,” Hallstrom said. “We had a good make-up feature and that helped us out for the rest of the night as well.”
Again, Hallstrom picked off position by position and was battling for the win during the late stage of the show. Hallstrom lined up on the front row for the final restart, but was unable to complete the pass for the lead and he settled for a runner-up result. It marked Hallstrom’s career-best finish in a late model.
“I really can’t thank my guys enough for how much hard work they put into this,” he said. “We had a really good piece and we continue to learn and progress as a team. Huge thanks to my sponsors and friends and family who support me as well. That first win is coming soon.”
Hallstrom’s next race will be at Thunder Road International Speedbowl this Friday.
