Hallstrom Tackles Three Races in One Week at Thunder Road International Speedbowl

Inside Line Promotions – BARRE, Vt. (July 12, 2018) – Evan Hallstrom is coming off a busy week of three races in a seven-day stretch at his home track of Thunder Road International Speedbowl.

The Hallstrom Motorsports driver kicked off the first of three late model races on Friday, June 29, during the Community College of Vermont Night with a solid car. He charged from 18th to a 12th-place finish.

The following Tuesday Hallstrom was back at Thunder Road International Speedbowl for the Aubuchon Hardware Holiday Spectacular.

“We had a pretty quick turnaround time to do maintenance and get ready for the next race,” he said. “Going into the week we knew we had another race on Thursday so we set up a game plan to keep our nose clean and survive the night.”

Hallstrom managed the 50-lap feature with a good race car. He kept himself out of trouble and scored a top-10 result, finishing seventh after starting 11th.

“My crew gave me a good piece and we were able to bring the car home in one piece to be able to get ready for Thursday’s race,” he said. “We have a lot of fun moving through the field and running toward the front with the big boys. I can’t thank my crew chief and team enough for always giving me a great piece that’s competitive week in and week out.”

Hallstrom wrapped up his three-race week a week ago Thursday. He only ran five laps in practice due to the heat, but had a stout race car throughout the night.

“We had an even shorter turnaround time for maintenance and checking over the car this time so we did all of that on Wednesday and loaded up for Thursday’s race,” he said. “We had a good piece for the first two races and going into the third I think we were going to be just as competitive.”

Hallstrom finished fifth in his heat race and lined up on the inside of the sixth row for the feature. He worked his way forward a few positions to finish eighth, logging his sixth top-10 result of the season.

“It definitely is hectic having all three races in one week,” Hallstrom said. “But we were able to get through in one piece and log some decent finishes and get more seat time and experience. I think this will prepare us for more races moving forward in my career.”

Next up is a big opportunity as Hallstrom will be making his super late model debut this Saturday at Oxford-Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – The Joie of Seating

Twelve years ago, Randy LaJoie, a two-time Busch Series champion, had an idea that turned into a dream. LaJoie began manufacturing seats for race cars and his company, The Joie of Seating, was started. LaJoie has come up with a stamped, molded aluminum seat that fits 95 percent of a driver’s body that he says, “has revolutionized the aluminum seat market.”

“The Joie of Seating company has to be one of the best seating companies around,” Hallstrom said. “They’re all about keeping the racer safe as they’re strapped in to their race car. It’s very clear that safety is a No. 1 priority to me so I wouldn’t want to have any other seat in my race car.”

Hallstrom Motorsports would also like to thank Midstate Dodge, Vermont Governor’s Highway Safety Program, Vermont Highway Safety Alliance, Fecteau Homes, Butler MacMaster, TriStar Racewear, Quarter Master, AR Bodies, Swift Springs, Depot Square Pizzeria, Design Engineering, Inc., and Waterbury Laundromat for their continued support.
