Inside Line Promotions – BARRE, Vt. (Aug. 22, 2018) – Evan Hallstrom dominated at his home track of Thunder Road International Speedbowl last Thursday to capture his first career late model win.

The Hallstrom Motorsports driver had a fast car in practice and it carried over into the racing action. Hallstrom started on the outside of the front row in a heat race and he capitalized at the drop of the green flag by claiming the top position. He went on to win his heat race before starting the 50-lap feature from the pole.

“We were really good in the heat race,” he said. “We put ourselves in position and checked out from the field.”

Hallstrom took advantage of the great starting spot as he led wire to wire to garner his first career late model win in front of a hometown crowd. He made history by becoming the youngest late model winner at the track.

“It’s awesome to be able to pick up my first win at my home track and with such stout competition every week,” Hallstrom said. “We kept working hard to be able to put ourselves in Victory Lane and we finally made it happen. I really can’t thank my family, team and sponsors enough for being a part of this team.”

Hallstrom will return to Thunder Road International Speedbowl this Thursday to contend for another win. The team will then make the trip to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, to compete this weekend in the American-Canadian Tour late model race, which is the night before the prestigious Oxford 250.

“I’m hoping to pick up another win this Thursday and continue our winning streak,” Hallstrom said. “Then we will load up and head to Maine for one of the biggest super late model races in the country. We will have a lot of practice time on our hands so hopefully we will be able to dial the car in, get good qualifying and heat race efforts, and race with some of the best American-Canadian Tour drivers around.”
