Hallstrom Earns Career-Best Result with American-Canadian Tour at Oxford Plains Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – OXFORD, Maine (Aug. 30, 2018) – Evan Hallstrom recorded his career-best result with the American-Canadian Tour last Saturday at Oxford Plains Speedway during the Oxford Plains 150.

The Hallstrom Motorsports team made the trip to Maine to compete in the ACT Tour portion of the 45th annual Clark’s Scrap Metals Oxford 250 weekend.

Hallstrom found speed in the practice sessions and was able to carry that speed to qualifying as he qualified on the pole for the 150-lap feature around the 3/8-mile paved oval.

“We unloaded pretty fast in practice,” he said. “We went out for qualifying and laid down a pretty good lap, which was good enough to put us on the pole for the feature.”

Hallstrom set an early pace and held a three-car-length lead over second before a caution erased the gap. He held onto the top spot for 52 laps before a restart put Hallstrom starting beside a hard charging Eddie MacDonald. After several laps of side-by-side action for the lead, MacDonald completed the pass around Hallstrom. Hallstrom held onto second before losing a position to veteran Jimmy Hebert and he settled into third. It marked Hallstrom’s career-best finish with the ACT Tour and at Oxford Plains Speedway.

“It was awesome to be able to run up front with the big dogs with both the ACT Tour and at Oxford Plains Speedway,” he said. “The team worked hard to get the skip out of the motor before we made the trip up here and to set the car up to be a rocket ship like it was. There is a lot of competition amongst both the ACT Tour and at Oxford. I think now we can consider ourselves a part of the competition and a contender on a weekly basis. I can’t thank my team, parents, partners and supporters enough on being a part of this team and supporting us week in and week out.”

Hallstrom will return to ACT Tour competition this Sunday at his home track of Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., for the Coca Cola Labor Day Classic.
