Inside Line Promotions – OXFORD, Maine (July 10, 2019) – Evan Hallstrom produced a top-10 outing at Oxford-Plains Speedway last Sunday during the PASS 100 Oxford 250 Qualifier.

“We were pretty quick throughout the entire weekend,” the Hallstrom Motorsports driver said. “We unloaded quick and then went to try some things to find some more speed, but those changes didn’t work. We went back to the setup we had for the heat race.”

Hallstrom unloaded fast in practice and carried that speed through to his Pro All Stars Series North heat race. He started on the pole and fell back one position to finish second.

“The heat race went well,” he said. “We had Eddie MacDonald to our outside so I knew he was going to be tough to beat. We ended up second. That still set us up for a pretty good starting position for the feature and to have a chance at getting a provisional for the Oxford 250.”

Hallstrom lined up on the inside of the third row for the 100-lap feature. He held his own in the fifth position before losing a couple of positions throughout the race, ultimately finishing eighth to record his second top 10 of the season.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get a provisional for the 250, but I feel confident that we will be able to qualify our way in by the time that weekend rolls around,” he said. “The feature was good. We were able to show that we are competitive with this stout level of competition.”

Hallstrom’s next race will be back at Oxford-Plains Speedway this Sunday, July 14.
